Q: How long has the auction been in existence?
A: Since 1987.
Q: Who organizes it?
A: The St. Charles Mothers Club with help from the St. Charles community.
Q: What is the auction’s purpose (besides throwing a great party)?
A: The auction is the Mothers Club’s No. 1 fundraiser each year. The net proceeds of this event, which in 2016 totaled over $175,000, are given to the school’s administration. Proceeds from this year’s event will benefit financial assistance.
Q: Where is the auction held?
A: In the Robert C. Walter Student Commons.
Q: What is the dress code?
A: Holiday festive! Men generally wear a suit jacket and tie, while women wear a cocktail-length dress.
Q: How do I purchase tickets?
A: After you receive your invitation in the mail, you will be able to RSVP via this website and pay for your tickets and pre-register your credit card (to avoid lines at the event). You can also send in your RSVP card in the mail with payment.
Q: How does seating work?
A: You can select table mates (up to 10 per table) by filling out a card that will be enclosed with your invitation or emailing Cherri Taynor at firstname.lastname@example.org. Please list first and last names and emails of confirmed attendees in your group. Please note any other special seating requests.
Q: What do you do at the event?
A: The auction is two-fold: you have a chance to socialize with friends, old and new, during the hectic holiday season; and you have the opportunity to support St. Charles through bidding on fun and exciting silent and live auction items, which have been donated for the event, and participating in raffles.
